Our total foreign workforce Singapore is 1.5 million big, almost a quarter of our population. As an Interact Club focused on health and our migrant community, events like International Migrants Day is one of our biggest events, and definitely a highlight!

In addition, we conduct Foreign Domestic Workers (FDW) health screenings, extending our efforts to care for our sisters in the migrant community alongside our brothers. These screenings reflect our commitment to ensuring that support reaches all members of the migrant workforce, many of whom face unique challenges in accessing healthcare.

Volunteer Training

Another key aspect of our work is the organisation of volunteer training sessions, which are essential in upholding the professionalism, consistency, and quality of our volunteer-led health screenings, especially for intrinsic stations like Blood Glucose, which would involve the prick test. Through structured training, volunteers are better equipped with the knowledge, skills, and sensitivity required to serve the community effectively, ensuring that our initiatives remain both impactful and sustainable.

Aside from special events such as those mentioned above, our regular health screenings continue to play an essential role in advancing preventive public health within the migrant community. While large-scale events serve as moments of celebration and awareness, our monthly screenings across Singapore represent our ongoing commitment to care and continuity. Through these regular efforts, we seek to make healthcare more accessible to migrant workers, many of whom have journeyed far from home in search of stability and opportunity.

Beyond providing medical support, these screenings offer reassurance, dignity, and a sense of community — small but meaningful reminders that they are seen, valued, and cared for. In supporting the health and well-being of migrant workers, we honour the individuals who form an integral foundation of the Singapore we live in today.
